NATIONAL SHOW 2009 6/09/2009
WHAT A DAY – CHAROLAIS CLASS ACT GREAT CATTLE – GREAT ENTRIES – GREAT CROWDS

With over 350 entries, the 2009 Charolais National Show was an all round really great event. Back in what can best be described as its spiritual home in Tullamore Charolais breeders turned out a top class entry in a very impressive setting.

Top prize winners were by Doonally New (9), Major (5), Texan Gie (3), Lyonsdemese Tzar (3) and Bova Sylvain (3) along with progeny from a number of stock bulls including Roughan Ultimatium (by Page); Baurnafea Baccaret¡(by Theodat); Cornadrung Casper (by CF 52), Cloonfad Axel (by Oscar) and Bunnanagh Ukraine (by Indurain)

The tops in all the categories were really outstanding and even right down through the lower class placings the quality was clearly evident and appreciated by the huge attendance from all over Ireland, Scotland, Wales, N.I. and France.

Judging all the bull classes in the show, Archie MacGregor from Glasgow stated that the quality of cattle at the show was improving each year and in his opinion it had taken another leap forward from the very good quality he had judged at the 2006 show.
