TULLAMORE/AIB NATIONAL LIVESTOCK SHOW 11/08/2014
A high quality show of Charolais helped to brighten the day in the wet and muddy conditions at the 2014 Tullamore/AIB National Livestock show.  Once again, it was a large and quality entry of Charolais cattle with over 130 entries catalogued. Presiding in the judging ring was Scottish breeder Raymond Irvine, Inverlochy Farm, Kirkmichael, Ballindalloch, Scotland, on his first judging visit to Ireland.  The Irvines (Raymond and his dad John) bred Inverlochy Ferdi, the Intermediate & Reserve Overall Champion at Stirling sales in 2012 and sold for top price of the sale – 25,000 gns. His semen is available from Dovea A.I. They also bred Inverlochy Gurkha who won the Intermediate Championship at the 2013 Stirling sales.   He was purchased by the National Cattle Breeding Centre in Co. Meath.   Semen is available from NCBC.
