TOP OF €7,000 AT TOPNOTCH PEDIGREE CHAROLAIS SALE 6/11/2014
With a clearance of over 80% of lots forward, a very big attendance and a top price of €7,000 the young McCann Brothers; Seamus and Gene of the Topnotch Herd had by any standards a very successful sale last Saturday in Ardee Mart.  Set up by Seamus in 2005 the foundation stock for the Topnotch herd was purchased at the Anneskeagh Herd Dispersal sale, a herd which Seamus had managed for the late Brian Donnelly for over 10 years.  The Topnotch herd enjoyed numerous successes over the years and achieved top prices including a bull sold at the Premier sale in March 2010 for €10,500.   Due to unforeseen circumstance regarding the farm, Seamus reluctantly made the decision to reduce the numbers of the herd whilst Gene decided to disperse his Charolais from the herd.

Seamus along with his wife Lisa will continue to breed pedigree Charolais and plan to increase numbers when they find a new home for their stock.
