Roughan bred bull sells in private deal to Wales

The Roughan herd based in County Donegal has announced the sale of one of their junior stock bulls to A and M William’s, Castellmawr Pedigree Charolais herd in Gwynedd, Wales. Speaking to Pat Mc Clean of the Roughan herd, he explained “Roughan Jason is a rising four year old son of Roughan Gibraltar and a Roughan Ultimatum bred dam. He has years of Roughan breeding in his pedigree. We are delighted to sell Jason to the William’s family and we hope he does extremely well for them”.

The William’s family have sourced stock bull’s in Ireland in the past, one in particular being Goldstar Gentleman, bred by the Ryan family in County Tipperary. Gentleman bred exceptionally well for the Castellmawr herd, with one of his first sons, Castellmawr Jacpot, winning the Supreme Champion at Stirling in October 2015 and went on to sell for 16,000 gns. Hopefully Jason will bring the same streak of success to the Welsh based herd.
