The Council of the Irish Charolais Cattle Society have made the decision to plan for a National Charolais Calf Show this Autumn. It will take place in Elphin Mart, Co. Roscommon on Saturday the 3rd October 2020. It was a decision that was deliberated over for some time. Council feel it is of vital importance that breeders get the opportunity to showcase their top quality Charolais Cattle, at the same time fellow breeders and customers get the opportunity to view the stars of the future. However, Council are also fully aware of the serious threat Covid-19 posses. It is for this reason the Show is being planned on the basis that it may be cancelled closer to the time, depending on the situation regarding Covid-19 and restrictions around Social distancing at the time. Certain classes may also be altered or cancelled, and the number of spectators may be limited, depending on guidelines at the time. The Society will act in accordance with Government and HSE guidelines at all times. The Society plan’s on posting live videos of each class on the Society’s Social media pages for anyone who is unable to attend the Show.
