OFFICIAL STATEMENT REGARDING MILITARY

Dear members,

As some of you may be aware, online posts have questioned the legitimacy of the paperwork relating to the new bull, Military, who was made available from the Society earlier this year. I want to take this opportunity to assure you, that the Society takes great care to ensure all the required criteria are met before the purchase, re- sale or distribution of any semen available from us.

To facilitate the importation of semen from either France or the UK, rigorous tests must be completed before the country of origin will issue an export permit. Regardless of what you may have read over the last few days, Military is no different. All the necessary tests were completed and the semen meets the European requirements for export and distribution.

As a Society, we too, like any other company selling semen, must make sure proper AI codes are in place, before either advertising or sale, and of course ensure full traceability of semen sales. In accordance with EU legislation, Military was parentage verified to both his sire and dam, before an AI code was issued for him. All our semen sales are invoiced directly to the ordering member and dispatched accordingly.

I hope this clarifies any questions you may have relating to this topic. The Society was lucky to obtain semen from this bull and indeed Ocelo this year, and we are actively looking for the next bulls to make available to you the breeders at a reasonable price.

Nevan Mc Kiernan,

Secretary, ICCS.
