There’s No Business…….Like Show Business 14/07/2012
The first ever Charolais Stockmans’ Workshop proved to be a truly outstanding event…finishing with Charolais Gold steaks, kindly donated by Dawn Meats.

Superbly organised by Martin Ryan and the Midland & South East club, over 300 attended and the general consensus of opinion was that it was a most enjoyable and informative event.  The afternoon’s event included tips and information on nutrition and management given by Martin Ryan, demonstations and lots of practical tips on halter making, clipping and grooming given by Leo McEnroe, the art of showmanship, courtesy in the ring and showing your animal to its best advantage was a most interesting presentation given by Alison Connolly, linear scoring demonstration and the advantages to the breeder of scoring was given by Basil Bothwell and a demonstration and question & answer session led by Rose Goulding, Jon Regan and Basil Bothwell on picking the right heifer to make a cow.  The stock judging event proved to be very popular and instead of one big prize, all correct entries were put in a box and 20 names were drawn with each receiving a bucket of Charolais soap.
