Top price €7,200 in the smaller female section went to the Reserve Champion Grangwood Insignia ET.   Bred by Jerry O’Keeffe, Woodlawn, Grange, Knocklong, Co. Limerick she is by Texan Gie and out of a home bred dam by Oscar.  She was purchased by Tomas Healy, Tuam, Co. Galway. The O’Keeffe family also bred the Champion Grangwood Jodi 2nd.   By Crossmolina Euro and out of a home bred dam by Lyonsdemesne Tzar she sold for second highest price of the day €6,000 to Andrew Armstrong, Dromore, Co. Tyrone.


€5,200 was received by Jim Geoghegan, Lisnagre, Streamstown, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath for his 15 months old heifer Lisnagre Jessy Et.   By Jupiter she is out of Ballydownan Sexy and was purchased by Roger McHugh, Kingsland, Boyle, Co. Roscommon.    A full sister Lisnagre Jane ET was also purchased by Roger McHugh for €4,800.


€5,100 was received by Gerard Mulligan, Rooskeynamona, Mohill, Co. Leitrim for his heifer Rooskeynamona Irma.   By Angelus and out of a home bred dam she was purchased by Alan Shiels, Coleraine, Co. Derry.


A bid of €4,600 secured fourteen months old Lisnalurg Jillian for John McKeagney, Upperlands, C. Derry.   Bred by Pauline Casey, Lisnalurg, Sligo she is by Prime Roberto and out of a home bred dam by Pirate.


Another happy man at the sale was John Searson, Sheehills, Roscrea who received €4,500 for Sheehills Jackpot ET and €4,000 for Sheehills Jacquelle ET. Full sisters, first and second prize winners in their class, and fourteen months of age they are by Inverlochy Ferdie and out of Sheehills Farm Girl Et by Repair.  Jackpot was purchased by Joe Collins, Kilmore, Carrick-on-Shannon and Jacquelle was bought by Joe Kilkenny, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo.


A bid of €4,200 secured second prize winner Shammer Jade for Kathleen Crowe, Summerhill, Carrick-on-Shannon.   By Pirate she is out of a Doonally New bred dam.


The first Charolais Society sale of 2016 is scheduled for Saturday 30th January in Tullamore.
