Despite the best efforts of the wind and the rain the Christmas cracker once again attracted a huge crowd and the newly built showing and export centre in Elphin was much appreciated by all.   Top price and average price are up on last year’s very successful sale.  The clearance rate of 80% from 103 bulls forward and following hard on the heels of two big sales in the same area within 8 days was driven by solid commercial demand with buyers present from many counties. The depth in quality was terrific and there were bulls forward to suit every market with prices ranging from €2,500 to €13,500.
