Commercial Charolais Class Results From Tullamore

Following their introduction in 2017, three new commercial Charolais classes took place at the National Livestock Show in Tullamore recently. Sponsored by the Irish Charolais Cattle Society, the three classes comprise a whopping prize fund of €3,500. The results from the three classes were as follows:

Best Charolais X Male under 425 kg

1st. Roy and Clive Stevenson

Kevin Maguire, President of the ICCS and Clive Hoey, Judge, congratulate the Stevenson family on winning the first class of the day.

Summer Shows Round Up

                          

On the left, Bessiebelles Millie exhibited by the Feeney brothers from Bostonia, Enniscrone, Co. Sligo. Sire: Newhouse Bigal. Champion Charolais and Interbreed Champion at Bonniconlon show. Millie was also Champion Charolais and Reserve Interbreed Champion at Grange show. On the right, the Bostonia team who won three Interbreed titles at Bonniconlon. Interbreed Champion with Bessiebelles Millie, Interbreed Bull Calf Champion with Bostonia Nonstopabull and Interbreed pairs with Millie and Drumshane Madamoiselle. 

Rivergloir Notorious exhibited by Jarleth Mc Hugh from Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo. Sire: Utrillo BP. Champion Charolais at Claremorris show and Reserve Champion Charolais at Castlerea show. 

Cloonglasna11 Noddy ET exhibited by Seamus Egan from Ballina, Co. Mayo. Sire: Major. Reserve Champion Charolais at Erris show. 

Pottlereagh Noah ET exhibited by Elizabeth and Martin Hughes from Cootehill, Co. Cavan. Sire: Cavelands Fenian. Champion Charolais at Arva and Castleblaney shows. 

In Cloone show, local breeder Andy Mc Govern claimed the Overall Champion Charolais with Loughross Norris by Bova  Banker, while in Tinahely, Martin Ryan and family was awarded the Champion Charolais with Goldstar Elle sired by the french sire, Caramel.

Brocca Napoleon ET exhibited by John Barry Moran from Athlone, Co. Westmeath Sire: Texan gie – Reserve Champion Charolais and Overall Interbreed Calf Champion in Ossory show. Also Reserve Champion Charolais at Mullingar show

Baurnafea Nicholas 2 exhibited by John Bambrick from Castlewarren, Co. Kilkenny Sire: Loulou – Calf Champion at the Midland and South East Charolais Club Championships in Ossory show
