Every year the Agricultural Science Society (AgSoc) in UCD hold a raffle to raise money for various charities. This year, they are looking to do the same thing again, with all proceeds going to Cystic Fibrosis Ireland and Embrace Farm. This is an Irish charity set up to support people that have been injured in a farm accident and to support the families that have lost a loved one in a farm accident. In an effort to support this wonderful cause, the Irish Charolais Cattle Society have donated a young pedigree Charolais heifer, Skidoo 96 Maire.
Skidoo 96 Maire
Maire comes from one of the oldest pedigree Charolais herds in Ireland, Skidoo. She is a daughter of the high index sire Blelack Digger and Skidoo 96 Ivory. She has 5 star replacement index of €87 and terminal index value of €120.
If you would like to buy a ticket to be in with a chance of winning Maire and support a great cause, tickets will be sold at Marts and various Agricultural events around the country over the next few weeks. You can also contact AgSoc Auditor, Sean Holian on 0862205930.
In an effort to give something back, the Agricultural Science Society have put the Irish Charolais Society logo on their annual jackets and t-shirts, worn by over 1000 young farmers in UCD each year. We wish them the very best of luck with their charity raffle and urge all our members to support.
