THE FIGURES SAY IT ALL

What an event we had at the National Calf Show & Sale and Elite Heifer Show & Sale last Saturday in Carrick-on-Shannon.  Huge attendance and RECORD average prices received.

Elite Heifer Show/Sale highlights: – 

Highest price was €8,200 for Clenagh Thea (et), bred by Michael Quinn from Co. Clare

Elite Champion was Grangwood U2 bred by Jerry & Kay O’Keeffe from Co. Limerick.  She sold for €7,200

Reserve Champion was Lisnamoyle Valerie, bred by Frank Garvey from Co. Mayo.  She sold for €6,000

Average price for the Elite Heifers Sale was €5,085, with a 84% clearance rate.

 

National Calf Sale highlights:-

Highest price of €15,500 was received twice for –

Larahill Violet (et) bred by John O’Connor from Co. Westmeath.  Violet was the Senior Female Champion of the Calf Show.

Liscally Valerie bred by Jon Regan from Co. Limerick.  Valerie was the Reserve Senior Female Champion of the Calf Show.

Average prices for the National Calf Sale were – Female averaged €7,354 / Males calves averaged €6,187.50, with a clearance rate of just under 70%.
