IRISH CHAROLAIS SUCKLER HERD COMPETITION WINNERS

After visiting over 30 top class suckler herds right across Ireland, we are delighted to announce our winners!

This was certainly no easy decision, with the standard of cattle and the overall quality of the herds being exceptionally high. Every herd we visited had its own outstanding qualities, making the final selections a real challenge.

To narrow down our choices, we focused on consistency throughout the herd, outstanding Charolais quality, and the power, shape and presence of the weanlings.

After much consideration, here are our 2026 competition results:

LARGE HERD WINNERS

SMALL HERD WINNERS

1st – Michael & Jack Connellan, Co. Roscommon

3rd – Raymond Cooney, Co. Cavan

The standard of these herds is a real credit to the breeders, with tremendous consistency, quality Charolais cattle and powerful, impressive weanlings throughout.

A huge well done also to everyone who took part. With over 30 excellent herds visited nationwide, reaching our final decisions was no easy task. Thank you to every breeder who welcomed us onto their farms and showcased the fantastic quality of Irish Charolais suckler farming.
