Weather doesn’t dampen spirits at Bostonia open day

Despite the poor weather conditions at yesterday’s YDP workshop / open day in Bostonia, a large crowd of spectators and most importantly young enthusiasts made their way to the beautiful Enniscrone farm to attend the event. Everyone who attended commented on the spectacular farm yard facilities which have been developed at Bostonia. The hospitality provided by the Feeney’s and farm manger Darragh Mc Manus was outstanding. Young people got hands on experience of grooming and clipping cattle with the experts themselves. A big thanks must go to all at Bostonia, especially the Feeney brothers, farm manger Darragh Mc Manus and our master judge, Andrew Hughes from the UK. Well done to all the young people who took part in the stock judging competition . Congratulations to Jonathan Higgins from Skreen, Co. Sligo who won the senior section of the stock judging and Megan Searson from Roscrea, Co. Tipperary who won the junior section. Jonathan has now booked his place in the male judging ring at this year”s National Charolais Show in Tullamore.
