An additional spring sale saw Charolais bulls average €3,216 with a clearance of 78%.
Championship sash and top price of the sale €7,000 went to Louise Quinn, Ballymoran House, Edenderry, Co. Offaly for her outstanding young bull BALLYM LOUIS. Another champion sired by Goldstar Echo he is out of a home bred dam by their stock bull Ballym Bouvreuil. He was purchased by Gerry McGreevy, Hilltown, Co. Down.
Reserve championship honours went to Padraig Farrell, Aughavoneen, Fardrum, Athlone, Co. Westmeath for CAVEHILL JET. By Thrunton Bonjovi he is out of a Fury Action bred dam. He sold for €4,600 to local man Thomas O’Meara, Cree, Birr, Co. Offaly.
€4,100 was received by Matt & P.J. Ryan, Clonismullen, Drom, Borrisoleigh, Thurles for their first prize winner KILVILCORRIS JEFFERY. By Utrillo Mic (URO) he is out of a home bred dam by Indurain and was purchased by Pat Smith, Gibbonstown, Crossakiel, Kells, Co. Meath. The Ryans’ also received €3,800 for KILVILCORRIS JAZZ, a son of Pirate and out of a home bred dam by Enfield Plexus. He was purchased by Declan Kelly, Curraghalaher, Lecarrow, Co. Roscommon. Their third sale offering KILVILCORRIS JUDE, by Blelack Digger and out of a Pirate bred dam sold for €3,500 to Paddy Kennedy, Slieverue, Athenry, Co. Galway.
€3,700 went to Alan Wood, Mullinmore, Crossmolina, Co. Mayo for CROSSMOLINA JOEY by Pirate and out of a home bred dam by Major. Purchaser is David Lane, Rhinn, Craughwell, Co. Galway.
€3,500 was received by Mattie Kelly, Cloughbrack, Newbridge, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway for CLOUGHBRACK JAMIE. By Inverlochy Ferdie he is out of a home bred dam by Indurain.
Price range was from €2,000 to €7,000.
