IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING
THE SALE OF ANIMALS TO THE UK MAINLAND
As most of you are aware at this stage, animals which sell to the UK mainland must return home for a period of 40 days after the sale. However, the Society will provide accommodation for any animals that sell to the UK mainland. Please note if you decide to avail of this, the Society will deduct 4% of your cheque, to subsidise the lairage, insurance, and transports costs.
If you decide to bring your animal home for the quarantine period, that animal must be re-tested and exported directly to the UK when the quarantine period is over. In order to assist breeders with this, the Society will subsidise €200 towards the upkeep of each animal for the quarantine period. The Society will organise the transport of the animals from the designated collection points to the UK. There is also the option to insure the animal for the quarantine period. This can be taken out on the day of the sale with FBD Insurance, who will be available in the Mart Office. This will cover the animal for 60 days after the sale. This is solely at the digression of the seller and the buyer.
