EXCITING NEW CHAROLAIS BULL AVAILABLE FROM THE SOCIETY
Leopard CH8502
Leopard is an outstanding specimen of the Charolais breed and one of the most exciting Charolais bulls to come available to Irish breeders in recent times. He is jointly owned by Jean Louis Riotte in France and Esmor Evans in the UK. Bred by Oliver Dessauny, he was used in a pedigree herd for over six years, before being purchased by Riotte and Evans for use in their own herds. He was spotted by representatives from the Society on a trip to France last year, standing out from everything else.
Leopard
His mother Astar comes from a prolific cow family. She herself is a daughter of Ocean 58 and the outstanding show cow, Orangeade. His father Edelweiss is an outcross for most Irish breeders, combining Unbon and Onde. Leopard is coming eight years old this year and is perfection on his legs and feet. He displays all the characteristics that made Charolais the breed it is today. He has length, width, depth, correctness, softness, with a wonderful kind head.

Leopard has been brought in as an option for pedigree breeders to breed replacement females. Following a trip to France in late Summer of this year, representatives from the Charolais Society quickly decided that Ocean was a must for Irish Charolais breeders. He is a son of Laskari and Homere, making him a complete outcross for most Irish breeders. Ocean was sold as a young bull for €20,650, a record for the station he was sold in. Progeny seen in France are long, stylish, well made, soft, easily fleshed and full of quality. He is breeding a type of cattle that should be easily finished at a young age, ideal for today's commercial market. Ocean should be best suited to bigger, longer, plainer type cows.

Neptune - Male Champion at Paris 2020
The bull many breeders have been waiting for is finally here. The Society is delighted to inform it's members that they have acquired straws of the reigning Paris Champion, Neptune. Following a trip to France in the Summer of 2019, the Society have been following Neptune ever since. As well as having a tremendous show record, Neptune is a bull with a pedigree stacked with the best of French breeding. His sire 'I Love You' stood at Thierry Prain's for years, and was regarded as one of the best maternal bulls in the breed in France, as was Neptune's maternal grand sire, Bourgogne.
I Love You (Sire of Neptune)
Neptune comes from a family of tremendous breeding cows, something that has and will always stand the test of time. His dam Fantazia is one of the best cows in Thierry Prain's herd in France, having bred Mimosa and Lorient. Fantazia's full sister, Floride, is a showpiece cow, and one of the stand out cow's at Thierry Prain's. Their mother Uree needs no introduction to the breed in France, both as a show cow and a prolific breeder.

Neptune's full brother, Mimosa, is breeding exceptionally well for Thierry Clame and Blandin Curry, two of the leading herds in France. Examples of his progeny can be seen above.
